Is your God warming his hands 'neath his bum ?

Is your God warming his hands 'neath his bum ?

A Poem by Gee
"

Desperate times raise questions

"
That he should die alone
his hand not held,
brow not kissed,
whispered words of comfort, love,
neither said nor heard
the final straw.
Filled with anger, pain, confusion she left,
leaving behind her shattered heart,
gold chain and crucifix.

Stories of folk dying without loved ones holding their hands as they slip away are now not uncommon, so, so sad

No matter how often we are exposed to such sad & harrowing tales.. I think it will be a very long time indeed before we hear of them without wincing.. just as I winced at the conclusion of this fine post..

It's tragic, no doubt. Very sad. These are the human stories that get lost in the numbers.

All safe and well here :)
It is one of the saddest consequences of this virus. Unimaginable just a few short weeks ago, now it is routine and just so utterly heartbreaking as it goes against every fibre of our being.

How quickly things change.

This is sad, as they do not even get a real funeral. They cremate the body, and you’ll never see them again. The pain must be unbearable. This is sad, but a reality now. I like your title, very mocking to God. And by Easter too ;) hahaha.

i was a hospice volunteer for a bit. a lot of people die alone. the kindest thing you can do is be there for anyone when they die. hold their hands. and hold the hands of their remaning living too, because they're not dying but suffering! we live in a world with too much selfishness. i'll be the honest jerk: i hope to god that many people die in this pandemic if just a few more people will choose to love their neighbors in this global community :) peace to you and yours, bro. nice and thought-provoking write.

Gee these days are surreal beyond words my good poet soul:/ I am not the most religious of people but when I do pray (my prayer usually takes the form of meditation) I often... no always lately, freeze in the thought flow of petition immediately realizing my needs and wants are so insignificant in these times I am left staring at a blank sheet of paper and a sigh:/ but in this realization an awareness comes that we are not truly ever alone in this

Gee, your words say and feel it all. These poor souls that have to fly away alone...God have mercy on them, and us all.
