You'll find me in the margins
where scribbles, doodles
and red ink expletives vent
inner anger, frustration
and a modicum of "why me" self pity
that reveal the small child,
the boy who hates change,
needing constants and security to thrive...
ironic isn't it, we crave that security and constant continuity and yet we live in a world where what is constant is always in chaos and change.... how does that saying go?? something about we make plans and life just laughs at us... but one thing we do have and that is a brain and we can figure out how to deal with everything changing in our lives.... never easily though.....
this is a short, concise demand for stability poem that I enjoyed reading and empathize with so if you do find some security, please let me know so I can look as well.... ;0)

Few months back, I unplugged from TV s**t-slinging leading up to 2020 election, so why do I still see "politics" in a simple heartfelt poem like this!?!?! I feel "in the margins" (great concept) growing up around agriculture (support Trump & can't tolerate a hint of disapproval from others) yet liberal factions push for extremes that will never fly in a country where consensus is required! I feel like that small child, stamping my foot & asking: why can't we compromise?!??! Maybe I'm too old to watch what happens next in this country *sigh!* Fondly, Margie

Confining the frustrated anger to margins is what we all try to do and often fail - a thought-provoking write Gee and thanks for versing my feelings too. Unwanted changes are ever a pain and given time they pall - but oh what turmoil there is in the waiting. ...............wishing you more peace soon.
Interesting title, Gee, and after reading this poem twice, I am left with a sense of humility and restraint. The narrator owns the "anger, frustration," but doesn't bleed all over the pages. He keeps it the margins, noting the impact on him shouldn't prevent others from the experience. Perhaps off-course, but my take on this poem, a solid thought-provoker. Thanks for sharing.

Tis said that routine's a smooth flight, procrastination's a crash-landing. Seems you're of the same thought and knows what suits you. Good thinking, Batman! Hope your Bank Holiday family plans are smilingly ready and waiting - enjoy every single moment.

I can so relate to this one Gee. As a matter of functionality with my cracked brain in order to remember things I am most definitely a creature of habit and get easily lost by distractions my reaction to this can be rather ridiculous at times:)

We are all that boy Gee, caught between being a proper grown up and someone who downs tools, sits on the ground and shouts its not fair.
When the comfort blanket is taken away, we feel as lost as that child, in this crazy grown up world that makes no sense.
I dread to think what a shrink would make of my doodles in the margins.
Good morning Gee. I have yet to meet anyone who welcomes change with open arms. I think most if us are wary of it. Unwelcome change will always see us in fight mode. Scribbles and doodles I understand because my notebooks are full of them along with my unfinished lines. That's my inner child playing. She doesn:t care about ink blots, only teacher did that. Hope all is good with you and yours. Have a good Bank Holiday.
