Mum's funeral....family flowers only.
3rd anniversary of mums passing on 9th April 2022
Like many of her so called friends,
the fair weather, absent ones,
he too never visited,
never lent his ear or comforted her,
so we felt it only right he not come to the funeral either.
Such sad and angry words, Gee. Truth too often shows itself in troubled times. I lit a candle a while ago for your darling mum; seems you and your darlings need one for yourselves now.. ..

I believe new world. Harder and colder. When I was young, we had family reunions. Can't remember the last one we did. Grandmother funeral. Only me and sister came. Was sad. Thank you for my friend for sharing the amazing words and your thoughts.

i am sorry for your loss Gee ...best wishes to you and your family ..so much sound wisdom in this angry little poem ... the time to be with one another is when we are alive .. a phone call, an invitation to lunch or just surprise me visit .. means everything ... the funeral is for saying goodbye .. how can one do that when they never said hello :((( love your poem ... you say it true!

I find that more and more funerals I go to these days are not conducted in a religious way. They are more a celebration of life. God didn't visit my brother's funeral either, but the Beatles did and so did Fleetwood Mac. I think family flowers are a good idea, I can't see the point in lining the florist's pocket. As to fair weather friends, the least said about them the better. Good morning Gee. Much to contemplate in your brevity here. I certainly felt your displeasure in this short piece.

Thank you Christine, hope all is well and you are sun protected. I'm off to catch a plane to Portugal.....yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh
This is a sad piece with an under current of bitter anger well expressed in a few short lines. I always say if people can't make time for you ordinarily and while you are alive, They should not bother with birthdays and funerals! I hope things are getting slightly easier Gee.

It seems that God the almighty, the all giving, only exists if we seek him out and not vice versa. Perhaps should have visited one of the many properties the Church of England own and rammed fistfulls of money into their collection box...should have bought his attention :))
Thank you Jacob.
