Simple words..3rd anniversary of mums passing today 09/04/22
Even though tides still ebb and flow,
nights cede to day and seasons change,
the one true constant wanted, needed,
is now naught but raw, emotional, memories,
that bring tears when least expected.
lovely poetic words gee.
you must've had a wonderful relationship with such a special mum to have wonderful lingering memories.
not everyone is that lucky, mine is going to 99 in august this year, but I won't be putting pen to paper when she passes.
cheerio carola
ps. i read your comment on patricia’s poem ‘Sorrow Spills Red’ & i totally agree with you regarding ukraine.
everything changes except the memories I keep in my heart, not always pleasant ones but sometimes painful ones...they seem to remain, with tears in my eyes. Soft and heartfelt poem Gee.
Best, B
Aw, how much she is missed. How the eyes still water when the memories flood in. Touching words Gee, heartfelt and beautiful.

No rhyme or reason to mourning, we put on the brave face mask, for the sake of others and those unfathomable rules of propriety, while our light is on with no sign of anyone being home, lost in the eternal moments where what were once such beautiful memories of times shared crumble us into never quite full submission, leaving only the hollow ache of loss.
Perfectly stated Gee. Those simple words of yours must come from Ronseal... Does what it says on the tin, to perfection.

Thanks Lorry.
I'm shite when it comes to dealing with grief, more so with other folks.

My heart goes out to you--I lost my dad two years ago and it's been really, really hard. I admire your ability to write at all--I had to take a total creative break when I lost him.
I don't know if you intended this, but the way none of your lines rhyme, it feels really despondent. It's heart-breaking, both in the structure and the subject. Again, my heart is with you.
Gee,
Indeed you will feel this way for a awhile . . . lost my mother 32 years ago to Ca. Yet time doth heal.
Thanks for this reminder around Mother's Day.
Tom
My oh my, what a gently, loving tribute this is, Gee. Such beautiful words for a beautiful woman. And they make you very much and more, her son. Sad days for you and your family but, wrap around your memories, my friend - they'll hug you slowly better.
