How do you Rhyme ??

Writing rhyming verse, some make it look so easy....( Oh no, not I)

One can syllable count
or try tapping a beat
with ones hands on a desk
or a floor with ones feet,
but whatever ones choice
words must trip off the tongue,
like a favourite verse
from a song when it's sung.

So grab you a pencil
white paper yet sullied,
consider your subject
at leisure not hurried,
and slowly but surely
words'll come to your mind
and hey presto like magic
a poem you'll find.

i love your rhyming words, & to even think of writing a poem about it, is terrific. a great poem gee!!

whilst i do write rhyme sometimes, i don't always get the meter quite right, maybe the trick is to use short words ?

Some def do make it look easy and then there are some like me who used to think poetry is another name for rhyming lol. But ah, you're so right, it does take an effort.

Sometimes the words simply will not come. Other times, they flow like a fast running river, and my pen almost trips over itself in its haste get them down before they disappear back into the far recesses of my mind.
