This is bittersweet.... sweet but sad, and you can feel it tug at your heart. I hope writing it helped you with feelings of loss, wherever they may have originated.. (add an apostrophe after sibling. Quick English nerd edit of mine, otherwise breath-taking). Lovely and contemplative.
The last line threw me a bit, but one things for sure Gee, the words are simply beautiful. You have captured a silent thought onto the page and left me eerily silent, which is always a good sign in many ways, but mostly just that your thought became the readers, while theirs became "wish I wrote that." :)
I lost my sister two weeks before Christmas, due to complications of asthma. There is never a day that goes by that I do not think of her or talk to her as though she were listening. This resonated deeply with me. Thank you, Gordon!
