She Is Beautiful.

Simple words for my wife

I tell her, "I love you because of, not in spite of "
She sighs,
runs her hands across the "C" section scar,
talks of lipo, tucks.
With an extended "annnnnnd" she fingers her lips,
mentions some film star with a bee stung pout,
talks of tattooed brows,
of laughter lines that require immediate lasering.
I smile, call her over.
She lays in my open arms, head on my chest,
I hold her, kiss her brow.
She is beautiful.
I tell her that every change is part of our story,
that without these we wouldn't have the life,
the love, the happiness we share.
She sighs, " but "
I raise her face, kiss her gently on her pale, pink lips,
She smiles...

A beautiful tale, still being told. I reckon we only have ourselves to blame for not being believed, but I totally get why you wouldnt change a thing about her. Every line is part of your story and joking asiide, they never see what we see and vice versa. To look at the person you are with, and just look and admire them quietly, shows its just meant to be.
But then we make a joke and get a dig in the ribs :)
