Remnants of happy

Remnants of happy

A Poem by Gee
"

Seperation

"
All that I kept were memories
and the misery of parting.
You, you added the "y" to ours,
magpie like collected all that glittered,
bubble wrapped, boxed it,
then left me with nothing
but the echo of a slamming door
and heartbreak for company.
Yet still I love you,
cradling nightly your pillow captured scent
as tears wash me into fitful sleep.....

Superb; short, bitter, powerful.
Made me feel guilty actually so it must be spot on !

Mind and body strong grasshopper --- Always look forward, but never forget.

Still, always look forward.

Well done with this. It truly aroused emotion... and that's the best compliment I could give.

Cheers Maxwell, luckily never been there...
Oh Gee! Always giving me unique sentiments. It is not one of my favourite writings, yet the words and the way you described how you feel were so beautiful and deep. You never fail to amaze me!

Simple stuff Norah, you are to Kind. Thank you.
Hard hitting, that is exactly how it feels when you are left. Heartbroken and crying yourself to sleep at night. It takes time ......I hope this is fiction and not reality, but in my case it happened. Your poem invoked feelings that I had forgotten.

Come back for a second read. I haven't noticed any scribblings, just poetry Gee.
Most have entertained the company of heartbreak, no matter how unwarranted the presence. Great read.

Cheers Laurierose
This is exactly how it is. I envy those who've never had this wretched experience. To never know the pain and heartache...what bliss. Nicely penned and perfectly precise.

Guess I’m one of the lucky ones. Thank you for reading and commenting
Isnt it always like that? If we are the ones left behind we still yearn for their attention.

Smiles thank you
Whether in it or amongst it, you have captured the essence of a relationship failing in such a way that it feels all too real. Ours to yours and fitful sleep disturbed by all the many thoughts of how it can go so wrong so quickly. Love it.
