A colours choir sang vibrantly

A colours choir sang vibrantly

A Poem by Gee
"

Spring...an oldie given an airing

"
Heads bowed as if in quiet prayer
the daffodils they swayed,
whilst dappled light through dancing trees
upon the lush grass played.

A bluebell sea rolled silently
to fallow fields yet sown,
o'er which in coming warmer months
a yellow quilt be thrown.

The thin veiled mists of early morn'
that washed the world with white,
cede to the over eager sun
days ever warm and bright.

A colours choir sang vibrantly
from life that bloomed anew,
to celebrate the birth of Spring
now another winter through.

Thanks Thomas
I love the use of daffodils in this poem. They are a beautiful early spring flower that adds so much joy and color to the world. This whole poems is joyful with the renewal of spring and the world becoming full of color once again as winter has ended

Hi Gordon,
Are you back from your biking adventure? Was a lot of money earned for the charity?
This poem feels different then any I have read of yours in the past. Not sure exactly why..Perhaps the rhyme sequence?
Whatever it is I really enjoyed your poem..

Finally it's summer and you paint an imaginative picture of what it looks like. Slowly, fallow grows to an array of colors..."A yellow quilt" what a great metaphor! These mature flowers sway in the breeze.... dance their way to fall. beautiful write Gee...

How I look forward to a warmer Spring with daffodils abloom and the sun making a difference to all the colour around us. Your poem covers it well.

Thank you Augustus
A lovely observation, Gee, of the springtime spectrum that encompasses a wonderfull, though fleeting time of year. Even though we have had such a horrendous winter, colour is already appearing in gardens and hedgerows, that shows the resilience of nature.

No human choir could sing it better!! G, a wonderful poem of spring and all its glory!

As an aside I heard Milton Keynes mentioned on a Brit show the other night in reference to a prison. Told the wife . . . there's a fella on the WC site who lives there. Small world.
