At gathered pace our passing lives.

At gathered pace our passing lives.

A Poem by Gee
"

How quickly life seems to pass us by.

"
Life travels now at gathered pace
the present oh so fleeting,
memories and yesterday's
tomorrows now are greeting.

Experience a tardy friend
brings maudling regrets,
each dawning day of "might've beens"
and "too late now" sun sets.

The tick and tock of father time
relentless ne'er will wait,
as ruefully we reminisce
with sadness contemplate.

Life travels now at gathered pace
attire oft' sombre worn,
to farewell say by silent graves
as passing life we mourn.

The title says it all Gee. Where does it go, these days that were so slow in youth, speed up as we get older, until we are shouting "It can't be breakfast again, surely."
Nicely written piece.

Cheers Lorry
i think of so many friends lost to time...i think of my mother passing, my father at such at 96...and how time as we get older just flies by...and there are so many graves at which we mourn the thought of those lost.

this is such a moving write, Gee...last line, second stanza i read as "too late now"

but yes, those sunsets that remind us of how we wish we had paid more attention to those we lost.

yeh! thats what i think anyway :)
i like this, flows nicely...it was only yesterday me and my partner were saying has fast time flies and wishing it slow, just a bit! your writing always seems to gel together so nicely while making perfect sense,...from what i have experienced, not simple to do grrrr. i would have liked this piece to be a bit longer and not just because i enjoy your style but because, like time it flew past too quick and i wasn't ready to finish yet. wonderful poem, as always, loved it, full marks :)
