Late in springtime

Late in springtime

A Poem by Gee
"

As life draws to an end.....

"
Now long his shadow 'cross the ground
weak the winter sun,
that sets upon a life well lived,
four score years since begun.

Would springtime greet him one more time
like an old friend at a gate,
he smiled, resigned, knowing well,
not next year, he'd be late...

Nicely crafted piece. Lovely rhythm and imagery. I don't think it's too short. At times, short pieces work better than long ones. Even just a few words are able to express a lot. Good one.

Again, Gee, another fabulous piece of work. As the years pass by, we all look forward to another spring. Another example of a short poem conveying a lasting moment. And no, it is not too short! Haha.
