A Red Waistcoat And Green Fingers

A Red Waistcoat And Green Fingers

A Poem by Gee
"

Hide and seek on an allotment

"
Hide and seek flirtatiously
flitting to and fro',
between the newly upturned sods
and bramble laced hedgerow.

A robin with the old man played
as always on it's terms,
hiding whilst the gardener toiled
then seeking out the worms.

Lovely. We have a very friendly robin in our garden who comes close to eat the meal worms we put out for him. Your poem reminded me of him. Definitely short but very sweet.

Thanks Cathy
I like the anthropomorphic tone of this one Gee. The sparra' with his waistcoat and that.
This is a clear case of antibiosis that I'd never thought about before. Birds are often considered the gardeners friend but so are the earthworms. The gardener has a dilemma.
Its good to read you again my friend. Well penned
