A Red Waistcoat And Green Fingers

A Red Waistcoat And Green Fingers

A Poem by Gee
"

Hide and seek on an allotment

"
Hide and seek flirtatiously
flitting to and fro',
between the newly upturned sods
and bramble laced hedgerow.

A robin with the old man played
as always on it's terms,
hiding whilst the gardener toiled
then seeking out the worms.

just happened across this
certainly an accurate reflection
Hate to be a worm
finally crawl out of the dirty ground for a lookey-se and get eaten

Morning Dave. You did well to find this one.
Cheers
dear Gee... I adore Robins... now that I am old,
I will upturn the earth by the hedge and bring the worms out and about for the Robins delight. Your poem is very endearing. truly, Pat

Thank you Patricia
I love this. Nice rhyme & rhythm conveys the lightness of spirit in your message. I am very entranced by the various critters in my garden. I love the worms so much, knowing how their "passage" leaves fertile ground, I don't want the birds to peck them away as soon as I turn my back! *smile* Fondly, Margie

Good morning Margie, hope all is well with you.
Thank you.
This is so adorable Gee. I love it. Short and sweet and so very, very cute and visual. We had an allotment for years. It was good fun (apart from the hard work). I used to sit and write poetry, sipping my tea, my husband used to do the digging (lol).

Ah, the red waistcoat of the robin, letting the human find his dinner for him...and we have the cheek to think we're in charge. Who are we fooling? I would write more, but the dogs gonna take me for a walk :)
