Autumnal Confetti

Autumnal Confetti

A Poem by Gee
"

A seasons change.

"
A seasons end celebration,
Autumnal confetti abounds,
covering the damp and the frosty,
a warm quilt sewn over the ground.

Flowers they bow to the cooling,
slowly all colour is gone,
whilst birds take flight for the winter,
the air bereft of their song.

The warmth of the sun but a memory,
as it sits, low slung in the sky,
"farewell, I'll miss you this winter"
my heart it says with a sigh.

Couldn't agree with you more Gee. The seasons change not only on the outside, but change us too, gradually warning us that the holiday is over and it is time to get ready for the years end and prepare for our winter dance of many layers and many more grumbles. :)

Indeed, and I cant be doing with the cold. Cheers
Your rhyming flows so effortlessly, the poem lacks not an ounce of charm.
This my favourite season. Not too, not too cold, not too wet. Just right.

Cheers,very kind.
You are such an gifted writer, you put down feelings of longing and memory with seemingly effortless ease. The description of Fall, and the onset of winter, one which would see the 'dethronement' of the Sun, is sensitively described.

Good job as always,

Best,
M.

P.S. I was wondering if there should be an apostrophe 's' after season in the first line, I maybe wrong.

You are welcome!
Loved the images of Autumn Confetti and warm quilts on the ground. Winter won' t seem so harsh after those comforting descriptions.

Thank you....
Without the darkness and the cold we are supposedly unable to appreciate the warmth and the brightness but that's a crock. Then again look at those who live in perma-sun - like in La-la land. Too much of a good thing can make us a bit mental.

Keep writing Gee for feck's sake not writing's sake mo chara. :D
Stay Lucky...
