Sunday Mornings

Sunday Mornings

A Poem by Gee
"

An overview of a typical Sunday morning

"
Clothed in comfort
coffee and toast,
papers and supplements
slow cooking roast.
Pooch getting tetchy
ready for walking,
yesteryear radio
memories talking.
Lawn mowers buzzing
green fingered mums,
kids doing homework
struggling with sums.
D I Y dad's
clueless but willing,
saving a penny
but costing a shilling.
Sunday mornings
played on repeat,
Monday is looming
so put up yer feet.

Brilliant, brings back memories of the neighbour sitting on a huge branch whilst sawing it. He didn't get any sunday roast that day.

LOL, I'd pay to watch that. Cheers Paul
Seems you've peeped through a few windows up and down my road! What a smile of a poem, fine meter and presenting colourful wee scenes, line through.

I'm thinking of forming a Society for Making Sundays Longer' - how about you as secretary?

Again thank you
This is filled with vivid, familiar, & well-crafted details! Even tho so much of this is familiarity, it's also written in a way that's fresh & inviting. There were a few things I'm not familiar with, such as kids doing homework & DIY stuff, so it was fun to see how the other half lives. Nicely penned everyday sentiments. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Dan...
Monday comes so quickly that we try to slow Sundays down...and really enjoying the start of it, savoring all of it with that cup of coffee and a good breakfast....and maybe writing a poem or two...nice start.

love the feel of this.
