Sunday Mornings

Sunday Mornings

A Poem by Gee
"

An overview of a typical Sunday morning

"
Clothed in comfort
coffee and toast,
papers and supplements
slow cooking roast.
Pooch getting tetchy
ready for walking,
yesteryear radio
memories talking.
Lawn mowers buzzing
green fingered mums,
kids doing homework
struggling with sums.
D I Y dad's
clueless but willing,
saving a penny
but costing a shilling.
Sunday mornings
played on repeat,
Monday is looming
so put up yer feet.

The relaxing on a Sunday. Always ruined by the dread of a coming Monday. This is wonderfully done. Thank you for the writing.

Monday's are typically no fun playing catch up at work after the weekend. You are right, enjoy Sunday while it lasts

I think of all those Sunday pop songs of the sixties. Small Faces, Monkees et al. And this is up there with them. Excellent.

This is a very nice piece to discover using Writer'scafe's new Discover section. This has a good, unforced rhyme scheme and touches on a subject we can all relate to. I enjoyed reading!
