I Lay AwakeA Poem by GeaJaeStanzas
I turn off the light,
At the still of the night. I surrender my sleep- Was it that I had too much caffeine or is it that tonight I am featuring in one of your dreams? Insomnia has got a hold on me, now my mind works more than it should and manufactures millions of unnecessary thoughts, at this moment: You, Your body, Your warmth on this merry less mattress is where you need to be. Hours ticking away Here, in this boundless bed I lay awake, Still surrendering my sleep. The key locked into the keyhole of the bedroom door As confetti after a wedding, so my clothes from the day before lays astray on my bedroom floor. This bedding, within the covers and sheets- I toss and turn until I'm tangled, In a struggle to find out how long I have to stay up trying to find the best dose-off angle. My solution would be to have you here, For the only way that I can receive my rest is to feel you near. © 2013 GeaJaeStanzas |
