Dumb ...Blondie

Dumb ...Blondie

A Poem by Devons
"

made-up entirely from song titles by Blondie... NB Debbie Harry is one blonde who is not dumb.

"

Detroit 442

Union city blue, picture this:

I’m gonna love you too

In the sun, look good in blue

Cautious lip, love at the pier

I didn’t have the nerve to say no

Heart of glass

Sunday girl

Rip her to shreds

In the flesh

Die young, stay pretty

Pretty baby

Fade away and radiate

Just go away

Do the dark, go through it

Will anything happen?

One way or another

I know but I don’t know

11:59, the tide is high

Bermuda Triangle blues

Island of lost souls

Man overboard, slow motion faces

Little girl lies, sound a-sleep

Here’s looking at you

Live it up atomic

Eat to the beat, kung-fu girls

Hanging on the telephone; fan mail

No imagination, accidents never happen

The hardest part: (I’m always touched

by your) presence, dear

Call me war child

X-offender

A Shark in Jet’s clothing

Walk like me, I’m on E

Living in the real world

Dreaming rapture

A cleverly and well crafted piece, love how you incorporated Blondie's
songs in each stanza so seemlessly with a smooth flow to the words~ just love her songs especially Rapture~

Nicely Penned!

Nice work! This one came out really good. It actually carried a poetic and complete theme all the way through.

I have read quite a few of this type of poem, lately; however, the titles that you chose and the way that they were put together was wonderful. I, particularly, liked the last stanza. Great job!

'die young, stay pretty' :: my life's motto there... great job, especially like the last two lines, blondie would be proud.

Very clever. I'll bet Blondie never considered her in this titles this way!

I love how you took each song title and created a little something special out of it. :)
I'm actually starting to grow very fond of these types of fun "poems". Especially when you can make it work like this!

Blondie! First to ever rap so they say,, what was the song?

I like all these songs and Blondie ... you have woven another great one using beloved music..
