Dumb ...Blondie

Dumb ...Blondie

A Poem by Devons
"

made-up entirely from song titles by Blondie... NB Debbie Harry is one blonde who is not dumb.

"

Detroit 442

Union city blue, picture this:

I’m gonna love you too

In the sun, look good in blue

Cautious lip, love at the pier

I didn’t have the nerve to say no

Heart of glass

Sunday girl

Rip her to shreds

In the flesh

Die young, stay pretty

Pretty baby

Fade away and radiate

Just go away

Do the dark, go through it

Will anything happen?

One way or another

I know but I don’t know

11:59, the tide is high

Bermuda Triangle blues

Island of lost souls

Man overboard, slow motion faces

Little girl lies, sound a-sleep

Here’s looking at you

Live it up atomic

Eat to the beat, kung-fu girls

Hanging on the telephone; fan mail

No imagination, accidents never happen

The hardest part: (I’m always touched

by your) presence, dear

Call me war child

X-offender

A Shark in Jet’s clothing

Walk like me, I’m on E

Living in the real world

Dreaming rapture

Shiieyzzle!

Damn brother, you slapped those words around like they owed you money.

I like how your poem changes in the middle it goes on from blondes to a island of lost souls and man being overboard. That is really creative. I agree with you about blondes they are dumb well not all but its something to think about when a blonde thinks they are better than you

Real cool collage. I like the water/island theme in the forth stanza. We have to do more of these! They are fun to piece together.

This is came off very good.. not just the usage of lyrics but how they make a very unique and interesting story..or should I say poem ..it works on both levels

Another fantastic weaving together of song titles!

Do the dark, go through it
Will anything happen?
One way or another
I know but I don’t know

Like stepping off that top stair in the dark. That is what I picture, anyway. Well done, fine sir.

cool piece here my friend. "Fade away and radiate" makes a great connection bringing thoughts of stars escaping, stars like Blondie.
