Staying with the Royal Blue Regiment

wrote this in HS. its like the first story. reading this will kinda be a background to the other one.

So I’m at home and I get this call that Dennis who is at Band practice helping out has fallen off the podium and hit his head on the ground. And it sounded really bad. And on the way to the hospital Carrie who is driving Dennis to the hospital has got hit with an on coming car. And so being 5 months pregnant with are little girl and having Dennis Jr. and little Baxter Dixon Kingsly Preston's little boy it was hard to round up the little ones and I was worried about Dennis so you can imagine how hard it was. I get there and Preston takes his boy and Matthew AKA Dennis. We call him Matthew because his dad is Dennis and that is his middle name. I finally find Dennis he is laying in bed I am surprised when I see a cast on his right arm and a cast on his left leg and something wrapped around his head and I start to cry.

 

This is when it starts real life and me talking. That was just me summarizing.

 

 

 

Just then Preston walks in and says “are you ok?”

“What do you think?” I said while crying.

“Come here Ruth.” Said Preston while holding out his arms

“I can’t do this Preston I just can’t” I said while sobbing in his arms

“Do what.” Said Preston 

“I can’t take care of Dennis and matt and the new baby (that will be here soon).” I sobbed

“Yes you can.” Said Preston

“I can’t Preston I just can’t it will be too hard.” I said while sobbing

“Yes you can.” He said “and I will help you.”

“Me and Sara will help you.” He added

“And what about when the baby comes will Dennis be there.” I sobbed.

“We will just have to wait and see.” Said Preston

“I need you Preston don’t leave me!!” I cried

“I wont, I will stay as long as you need me.” Said Preston

“Come on let’s go and get Sara and the kids and go get some food and then we will go and see how Carrie is doing.” He said

“Ok.” I said “but first I have to make a potty stop she has been sitting on my bladder all day and I have had to go really bad and now I can’t hold it.” I said

“Ok no problem. He said.

They get to the bath room and I go then we find Sara and the boys.

“Hey Baxter.” Said Ruth

“Aunt Binky.” Screamed not so clearly said Baxter as he ran and jumped into my arms

In the background Sara says “careful Baxter remember the baby!”

“How are you Baxter?” I said

“How is uncle Dennie?” Asked Baxter

“Good.” I said

“When do I get to see him.” asked Baxter

“Maybe later because they are not letting kids in yet, But we get to go see Carrie though.” I said

“Cawie?”  Said Baxter

“You will know her when you see her. Ok Baxter” I said

“Hey Preston can I talk to you privately?” I asked

“Yes?” said Preston

“Well I wanted to ask you if you and Sara can be god parents to my little girl?” I asked

“Well I would love to but let me ask Sara.” Said Preston

“yeah me and Dennis have been talking about this and I was supposed to ask you when you came over to drop off Baxter but I did not, and then I was going to ask you when you came to pick him up but then the accident happened to Dennis and Carrie so I did not have a chance so I picked now.” I said

“And I wanted to tell you thank you for all you have done for me and the kid’s well ur um kid I guess.” I said

“Thank you.” I said

“Thanks that means a lot” said Preston

They hug and while hugging I start to cry and Preston says “ where gunna do this ok, where gunna do this.”

“Ok” I say while sobbing

“Ok?” said Preston reassuringly

“Ok.” I said

I sob a little more in Preston’s arms and then we head off to get dinner and to see Carrie.

After dinner in the maternity ward:

“Hey Carrie.” I say

“Hey, how’s Dennis?” said Carrie

“Well so far he is still unconscious.” I said

“Aww I’m sorry” said Carrie

“That’s ok.” I said

“Well how are you?” I said

“Well I’m ok.” Said Carrie

”Good.” I said

”also there going to induce me in about a week, they want to see how the baby is first and give it some time to rest”

”ok cool” I said

5 days later

I am talking with Carrie and I get this call from a nurse that Mr. b is in the hospital he has just had a heart attack and Mattie is in the ER waiting room!!

“Hey Carrie I have to go something happened to Mr. b” I said

“What ?!?!?”

“Yes!!!” I said

I get there and I see Mattie and run over to Mattie

“Hey Mattie!” I said

”come here!” I sad holding out my arms to hug her

“NO!” Mattie said while sobbing

“Go away!!!” said Mattie sounding mad

“I just want to help” I said

“I don’t need you, GO AWAY.” She yelled in tears

“Where is your Sister?” I asked

“At school.” She said

“Ok, I will go get your Sister.” I said

“NO, I DON’T WANT HER TO KNOW.” She yelled at me while in tears

“Leave, go I don’t want you here.” Mattie cried

 “OK FINE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T NEED ME YOU DON’T NEED ME” I yelled

I walked away and called Preston

“Hey Preston????” I asked

“Can you help me??” I cried

“What, what is it, is Dennis ok?!?!?” said Preston in shock

“No Dennis is fine it is br.b!”

“WHAT!!!!!” said Preston

“He had a heart attack.” I said

“Is he ok??” asked Preston

“I don’t know.” I said

“So what did you need help with?” asked Preston

“I need help with Mattie, she doesn’t want help from me, she told me to leave I don’t want you here!!” I cried

“Ok, I will be right over” said Preston

“Thanks Preston. You are the best!” I said

“No prob.” Said Preston

A few min later as I was sitting down trying to calm down a crying Matthew, Preston walks in.

“ohhh thank you thank you Preston!!” I said overjoyed

“I really needed you!” I said

“I brought Sara along for the ride so she could watch Matt.” said Preston

“Sorry to just drop him off.” I said

“That’s ok, I totally understand.” Said Sara

“Thanks so MUCH!”I said

“Bye Matt I love you so much and I will see ya in a bite.” I said handing Matt over to Sara

“Where is she?” asked Preston

“Over there sitting in the corner crying.” I said

“I’m going to go talk to here to see if I can get more out of her.” Said Preston

“Hey Mattie!” said Preston

“I am a friend of Ruthie’s I came to see if you where all right?” said Preston

“I don’t need a counselor, GO AWAY!!” Cried Mattie

“I just want to help.” Said Preston

“NO, GO AWAY!!!!” Yelled Mattie in tears

“Mat-”said Preston getting cut off by Mattie

“I’m FINE, GO AWAY!!!!!” Said Mattie Yelling at Preston in tears

“I have a plan.” I said

“What????” asked Sara

“I’ll be back.” I said

“Ok.” Said Sara

At the nurses station

“Can you page Dr. Belsie?” I asked the nurse

“Tell her to come to the ER waiting room it is kinda urgent” I said to the nurse

“Sure.” Said the nurse

“Thanks!” I said

5 min later

“Thank you so much Holly, we needed you!” I said

“No problem.” Said holly

“How’s the baby?” asked holly

“Good!” I said

“So here’s what happened Mr. Borodach had had a heart attack and Mattie is here but wont talk to me or Preston. We are trying to get her to talk to us to help her but she won’t talk to us! ” I said

“Can you help us???” I asked

“Sure. Where is she?” asked holly

“In the corner over there crying.” I said

“I will go talk to her and see if I can get any thing out of her” said holly

“Hey Mattie you remember me I’m holly I used to Baby sit you.” Said Holly

“Holly!!!!!!!” Cried Mattie in happiness

“My mmm my daddy is he ok?” sobbed Mattie

“I don’t know Mattie.” Said holly

“We are trying to get as much info as we can” said holly

“Is is he going to be ok??” cried Mattie

“Mattie I don’t know” said Holly

“IS MY DADDY GOING TO BE OK!!!!!!!!!!!!” sobbed Mattie in tears

“Mattie like I said I don’t know we just have to wait and see.” said holly

“Does your mom know about this?” asked holly

“No.” said Mattie

“We need to call her and let her know ok.” Said holly

“Ok.” Said Mattie

“Mattie what’s that on your arm??” asked holly

“Nothing!” said Mattie pulling her sleeve down to cover it

“Nothing?!?!? It looks like your cutting your self!” said holly

“Can we talk about this later!” asked Mattie

“NO Mattie we can not talk about this later!!” said holly

“Mattie this is serious business! You cutting yourself! Why Mattie?” asked holly

“I felt like I did not fit in.” said Mattie

“I’m just a freshman I don’t have any friends I don’t know anybody.” Cried Mattie

“Mattie that’s ok pretty soon you will know people and have friends just give it some time” said holly

“I want you to tell your mom about this ok, or I will ok.” Said holly

“Ok.” Said Mattie

“I would like to thank you all for coming to our 5th wedding anniversary. This is the exact   place where my Grandparents had there 50th wedding anniversary. I was 7 at the time and sang a song for them.” I said as the video presentation was ending.

“I would like to thank theses people for coming, my parents Allan and Carolyn, my friends Preston and Sara Kingsly and two of the best people in my life Sue and Tim Farley. They all helped me thru this and got me where I am today.” I said

“I would like to say a little bio on our family. Me and Dennis met in high school. We both played the trumpet I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. I saw him and my breath was taken away. I thought he was the cutest person ever but, I knew I never had the chance with him. But my junior year he asked me out! I was so ecstatic I couldn’t believe it. My crush had asked me out. I was now playing French horn. And I said to my self a trumpet player asking out a French horn player who switched from trumpet to French horn. I never thought it would happen. I of coarse said YES. It was a hit. We were ment to be together. Then he took me to prom he being a senior. Before prom at dinner he proposed to me. He asked me to marry him we both not out of high school yet. I was so happy I did not know what to say. But somewhere in there I said YES. I couldn’t believe it my crush had asked me to marry him. He did say though that we would get married after I graduated. I agreed to that, getting married during school would be too much. We got married in the most unusual place, My High School Band room. My mom’s friends Mary Ann and Sue Farley married us. I’ve known Mary Ann all my life she even married my mom. The reception was held in Harry Griffin Park. It was perfect. My middle school director was there, Mr. B was there, Brandon was there my parents, Farr, Preston and Sara where there. Then about a month or two later I wasn’t feeling well so I went to the doctors. I was pregnant. It was a boy we named him Dennis Matthew Jr. after his dad. He has always gone by matt or Matthew. He is over there sitting with his best friends Sue, Farr and Baxter Preston’s boy. He is now four. Then about a year and a half later I found out I was pregnant again our second child. Then Dennis got in a terrible accident he is partly paralyzed from the waist down. We named her Isabella Rose. That’s what he wanted. She is sitting with my parents. Isabella is two she was born just after Dennis got out of the hospital. As you can tell I am pregnant. It is our 3rd child. We don’t know the sex of the baby yet. If it is a girl she will share a room with Isabella if it is a boy he will share a room with matt. I was just thinking wow look how far we have gone in the last five years. I am almost 25 and I have three kids most people don’t have three kids till like 30. I said

“And now I would like to bring up Sara and Preston Kingsly to speak a little.” I said

“I’d like to say thanks to Ruth and Dennis for letting my family be apart of there lives. For the enjoyment my son had staying over at her house. Every time I told Baxter he was going to play at Ruth’s house he was sooo happy. He could never wait. When Baxter got really sick and was in the hospital. They where there for me and Sara as we where there for them. Thanks you guys you are a great family!” Said Preston

“Thanks Preston.” I said

“I would like to thank Preston and Sara for always being there when I needed them!” I said

“I would now like to bring up my husband Dennis because we have some exciting information to share.” I said

"Hurry up!" I said jokingly

"geeze stop pressuring me I cant go as fast in this dang wheel chair as you can walking!" Dennis said jokingly

"Well Sorrrrryyyyy!" I laughed knowing we where just joking.

“As you know I am pregnant. I new I wanted another kid but I was also thinking about the kids out there that don’t have homes. I talked to Dennis about it and we thought that adoption was the right choice. We started looking around and found one that specialized in overseas adoptions. I chose the Philippines. The agency showed us a picture of a 6yr old girl and I fell in love with her. She was never really given a name at birth. We wanted to give her a name. So we chose Mary Ann Jane Carney first name after my dear friend Mary Ann Swenson. [After I said that I heard Mary Ann start to cry.] We will call her Megan. That is what they called her in the Philippines. After we chose her I found out I was pregnant. I new this was the last child I wanted. We did not cancel the adoption. I still wanted her. We are do to fly over there in two weeks to pick her up! ” I said

“Here’s her picture you may pass it around” I said   

I walked over to Mary Ann and she got up and hugged me.  

“I’m so happy for you! Congrats!” said Mary Ann

“I want to ask if you and Jeff would be the god parents to Mary Ann. It would mean a lot to me!” I said

“OHH my gosh we’d love to!!!!” Said Mary Ann

I could tell from that that she was so happy! I was glad. I felt good inside! A week ½ later while I was packing I get this call from the adoption agency. Megan’s mom had had another Baby, a boy. This baby had had complications at birth. He is missing three fingers from his right hand and his index finger is deformed. It is the size of the pinky. I was already to say yes but I knew that I had to talk to Dennis. I figured he would say yes if I begged and pleased. So I said “let me call you back tomorrow after I have talked to my husband.”

“Ok.” Said the lady on the phone

“Another question.” I asked

“yes.” She said

“Will you send us a picture?” I asked

“Yes of course!”  She said

“I will get right on it.” She said

“Hey Dennis!” I yelled

“What?” he yelled

“We got a call from the adoption agency.” I told him

“What?????” he asked

“Yeah.” I said

“They called us to tell us that Meagan’s mom had had another baby, a boy he is a few weeks old he is missing a few fingers.” I told him

“Soooo, what do you think???” I asked

“Ok here we go,  A picture of him.” I said Checking my e-mail

“Awwww he is so cute” I cried in happiness

“Hey look hunny here’s his picture.” I said

We got back from the trip. The trip was great I was just starting to adjust to having two new kids in the house. It is now about three weeks later.

“Uhhhh Dennis!” I said

“What?” said Dennis

“I think my water just broke!” I studard

“What?!?!” Questioned Dennis

“Yeah!”

“Would you call Sue and Holly for me?” I asked

“Sure!” Yelled Dennis from the other room

“Ohhh and call Sara to come pick up Jeff.” I yell as I was coming in to a contraction a vicious one at that

“Sorry to wake you but is Sue there?” Asked Dennis over the phone

“Yeah this is Sue” she said groggily it being five in the morning

“Ruth’s water just broke about five minutes ago!!” Said Dennis

“Ok we will be right over!” said Sue

“Does Tim know Sara Kingsly she is supposed to pick up Jeffri?” asked Dennis

“Yeah they met briefly the other day.” Said Sue

“Good.” Said Dennis

“Bye see ya in a few.” Said Sue

“Sorry to wake you but is Sara or Preston there?” Asked Dennis over the phone

“This is Preston.” Said Preston

“Ruth’s water just broke about 10 minutes ago.” Said Dennis

“Ok we will be there in a few.” Said Preston

“Tim will be there for the other kids.” Said Dennis

“Ok where on our way.” Said Preston

“Bye.” Said Dennis

“Hey is this Holly?” asked Dennis

“Yeah, Dennis is everything alright.” Said holly

“Ruth’s water just broke.” Said Dennis

“Ok, meet me at the hospital.” Said Holly

“Bye.” Said Dennis

“Remember breath. You can do it. Just remember to breath.” Said Dennis as he was hanging up the phone

“Where back here!” I yelled as I heard the door open

“Hey Su-” I said just as a contraction hit me.

“Hey!” Said Sue

“Here’s the Plan.” Said Dennis

“Tim will stay here and wait for the kids to get up and then wait for Sara and we will give Farr the keys to Bobby (the Carney van) Sue will drive us there in your van.” Said Dennis

“How’s your contractions?” Asked Sue

“Ahh there vicious ones about two minutes apart lasting about 30-40 Seconds.” I said

“Ok let’s hit the road.” Said Sue

“Will you grab my bag honey?” I asked Dennis

“Yeah it’s by the door.” He said

“Ok than-.” I said coming in to a contraction 

“Here let me help you.” Said Sue helping me off the bed

“Whoa!” I said feeling dizzy

“You ok??” asked Sue

“I feel a little dizzy.” I said

“Sit back down.” Said Sue

“I think I got up to fast.” I said

“Lets wait a minute I don’t want you to get to dizzy.” Said Sue

“Ok.” I said

“Can you get me the trash can or something I feel like I’m going to barf.” I asked

“Farr will you get that!” Whispered Sue to Farr

A few minutes later I feel better.                             

“Let’s go.” Said Sue

“Ok.” I said

“Sue you’re going to have to drive because we cant you’re the only one who can.” I said

“Well of course I wasn’t going to let you drive!” Said Sue

“I know Dennis can’t drive and I was most definitely not going to let you drive!” Said Sue

“Ok let’s go!” I said

“Just remember not to get up to fast.” Said Sue

“Ok yeah I know I don’t want to get dizzy again!” I said

“Would you help me up?” I whispered to Sue

Sue helps me up and where headed to the door. We make it to the car with out any problems, which was good considering my other births. We make it to the hospital to meet Holly. She checks me out and hooks me up. I was about four cm when I got there, went to about Seven cm and stayed about seven for like three hours. My kids then showed up with Farr and Sara, stayed awhile and I got to hold Jeffri for awhile. It was me in Sue in the room at that point Dennis, Farr, Sara, Preston and the kids went to go get food.

“Uncle Farr!!!!!” Yells Isabella as she runs in to the hall

“Hey Isabella!” said Farr

“How are you?” asked Farr Hugging Isabella

“Where’s my mommy?” Asked Isabella

“Well your mommy is at the hospital getting ready to have baby Carney.”

“Mommy havin a baby?” Asked Isabella

“Yes!” Said Farr

“Wow!” Said Isabella

“The baby commin out of the oven!” Said Farr

“Tat cool.” Said Isabella

“Yep.” Said Farr

“Hey lets go wake up your brother and sister so we can get ready to go see mommy!” Said Farr

Tim was then noticing that Isabella was not happy anymore like she was two minutes ago.

“Isabella come back here.” Said Farr

“Wat?” asked Isabella

“You ok?” Asked Farr

“I don’t Megan don’t lik me.” Said Isabella

“Yes she does.” Said Farr

“Isabella come here and sit on my lap.” Said Farr

“She is new here and does not know much English. She has to adjust to a new home.” Said Farr

“You are new to her so she has to get used to you.” Said Farr

“Ok.” Said Isabella

“Go and wake them up, ok Isabella.” Said Farr

“Ok.” Said Isabella

“Just don’t wake up Jeffri, I want him to sleep.” Said Farr

“Ok.” Said Isabella

“Hey Matthew get up!” Yelled Isabella as she was running into his room

“Mama havin the baby!” Isabella yelled

“Hey Megan get up!” Yelled Isabella

A few min later the house is a racket.

“Uncle Farr!” they all yell in harmony

“Hey!” Farr yells back

“Let’s see what we have in the fridge for breakfast.” Says Farr

“Ohh that sounds like my cell phone.” Said Farr

“Hello?” Said Farr into the phone

“Hey honey.” Said Farr

“Hey kids its Aunt Sue!” Said Farr

“Hi Aunt Sue!” They all yell into the phone

“Hey Kids!” Yells Sue Back

“Hey Farr?” Says Sue

“Yeah?” Says Farr

“Ruth wants me to tell you that there is breast milk in the fridge for Jeffri and when he wakes up you should feed him, Megan gets toast because that is all she will eat and the kids get cereal.” Said Sue

“Ok I can do that.” Said Farr

“Ok, I think I hear him now, I have to go.” Said Farr

“Ok I love you!” Said Sue

“Love you too!” Said Farr hanging up the phone

“Hi baby Jeffri” Said Farr

“You ready to eat?” Asked Farr

“Ok toast in the toaster for Megan, cereal for matt and Bella and milk for Jeffri.” Said Farr

“Eww tats mommy’s icky cereal!” Screamed Isabella

“Sorry!” Said Farr

“Fruit loops or Frosted flakes?” Asked Farr

“Both.” Said Matt

“Ok if you say so.” Said Farr

A few later

“Come on kids lets go get dressed so we can go see mommy.” Said Farr

“Hey Sara.” Said Farr as she walked in the door

“Hey Tim” Said Sara

“Kids have eaten and are getting dressed.” Said Tim

“Ok.” Said Sara

“Here you can feed Jeffri.” Said Farr handing Jeffri to Sara

“Ok.” Said Sara

“Hey kids I have shirts for you to wear.” Said Farr

“Here you go Isabella and Megan.” Said Farr

It reads “I’m a Big Sister!”

“Here you go Matt.” Said Farr

His Reading “I’m a Big Brother!”

He also gave a onesie that said “I’m a little big brother.” Jeffri.

“Come on kids lets get in the car.” Said Farr

“Ohh that’s my phone again.” Said Farr

“Hello?” Said Farr

“Ohh hey honey.” Said Farr

“Ruth wants me to tell you again that the carrier for Jeffri is in the car and the stroller is in the back, you will want those ohh and the diaper bag is in the boy’s room.” Said Sue

“Ok” Said Farr

“Also Isabella will want to be carried every where so try and make her walk, she needs the practice.” Said Sue

“Ok I can do that.” Said Farr

“I love you honey!” Said Farr

“I love you too!” Said Sue

“Tell the kids that I say Hi.” Said Sue

“Ok.” Said Farr

“Bye.” Said Sue

“Bye.” Said Farr hanging up the phone

“Isabella sit down.” Said Farr

“No.” She whimpered

“ISABELLA ROSE CARNEY SIT DOWN!” Yelled Farr in a not so loud voice

“I would like to go see your mom and the gang at the hospital, so if you don’t sit down and cooperate then you won’t go I will leave you here with Sara!” Said Farr

“Ok.” Said Isabella

“Then sit down in your car seat and let me buckle you in.” Said Farr

“NO, me do it!!” Said Isabella

“Ok but hurry up so we can go.” Said Farr

Off we where singing Old McDonald

I unloaded the kids put sleeping Jeffri in the stroller and off we where to go see Ruth have baby Carney.

“Hi mommy.” Said Matt

“Hey Matt.” I said

“Aunt Sue!” Yelled Isabella

“Hey Isabella!” Said Sue picking her up to hug her

A little later the kids Dennis and Farr all decided to go get food and Sue offered to stay with me.

*Over*

 I guess my parents had showed up and where eating with them. I was just then thinking about when I told Sue that it was a boy.

*flashback*

I had just dropped the kids off at Sunday school and Isabella at daycare. I was sitting in my normal spot with Jeffri but I had left a note for Sue up at the pulpit. The note said “IT’S A BOY!!!”  Sue Finds the note and she gives our index finger wave in happiness. During the greet your neighbor part in church Sue runs down from the pulpit and gives me a BIG hug. She goes to rub my belly and stops knowing I don’t usually let people do it but I said go ahead I don’t mind. After church I stand in line and wait my turn to talk to Sue. I ask her if she wants to do lunch. “Farr can take the kids and hang out with Dennis.” I said “ok!” Said Sue. So we head out to lunch. Boy that was a day to remember.*over*

“Owww!” I said as a contraction hit me

“You ok??” asked Sue waking from a light nap

“yeah I just got another contraction.” I said

“It’s about time for my every ½ hr check up.” I said as Holly walked in the room

“Hey we where just talking about you!” Said Sue

“Was it good?” Asked Holly as she was checking me

“Yes it was!” I said

“Good.” Said Holly

“You’re about ready to push!” Said Holly

“Cool, I just need to call Dennis.” I said

“Hey Dennis you want to get up here so we can have this baby together!!!” I said over the phone

“I will be right up!!!” Said Dennis

A few minutes later Dennis, Sara, Preston, Farr, my parents, and my kids showed up!

“Are we ready?” Asked Holly

“Yes!” I said

“1….2….3….4….5….6….7….8….9….10” Said Dennis Sitting right next to me in his wheelchair holding my hand.

“Come on Ruth Lets have this baby!” Said Holly

“Give me a BIG push!!!!” Said Holly

“Push, give her a Big one, lets get this boy out.” Said Dennis

“1….2….3….4….5….6….7….8….9….10” Said Dennis

About an hour later of pushing and resting Baby Carney #7 is about to come out.

“I can see the head, it’s almost there!!!” Said Sue

“1….2….3….4….5….6….7….8….9….10” Said Dennis

“Here he is!!!!” Said Holly putting him on my stomach

“Does daddy want to cut the cord??” Asked Holly

“Yes I do!!” Said Dennis Almost crying

“Hi baby!!” I said

“What are you going to name him?” asked Sue

I looked at Dennis and then said “Farley Parker.”

“Farley after Sue’s Last name and Parker after there place at the river in Parker Arizona.” I said

“Wow what a cute name, I love it!!!!” Said Sue

“I know that is why we picked it.” I said

“Isn’t he cute!” I cried

“Hey Baby I called a little someone to come and stop buy.” Said Dennis motioning to Isaac to come in the room

“Ohh my Gosh Isaaaac” I screamed and cried at the same time

“Tubbmarine!!!!!!” I cried

“Hey how are you??” I asked hugging Isaac

“I’m fine and you?” asked Isaac

“Well besides the fact I just gave birth I’m fine!” I said

“Well no doubt, I’ve never given birth but you look exhausted.” Said Isaac

“I think you might want to know who these people are in this room. Of course you know my parents, you know Preston and his wife Sara, my best friends Sue and Tim Farley, husband Dennis Carney, and my kids, Megan who is seven she is adopted, Dennis Matthew Jr. who is five, Isabella Rose who is three, Jeffri J-E-F-F-R-I James who is two months old who is the brother of Megan and is also Adopted, and of course last but not least Farley parker one hour old.” I said

“Wow what a family! You have five kids now? How can you do it?” Asked Isaac

“I don’t know I only had to have four but then he came along but I think I can do it” I said

“Now how about you, how are you?” I asked

“I am fine, I am married to a nice lady named August we have one kid named William Isaac Tubb”

“Cool, how sweet!” I said

“We will let you two alone for a while” said Dennis

“Ok I said”

“Wow how do you like it?” I asked

“I like it.” Said Isaac

Just then holly walks in.

“Is everything ok?” I ask

“no, Mr. borodach is back in………… the hospital.” Said holly

As she is saying that I can sense it.

“Is he ok?” I ask

“He has a collapsed lung.” Said Holly

“Ohh my gosh! His he going to be ok.” Said Holly

“We don’t know yet. I hope so though.” Said holly

“Me too!” I said

“Kara found out you where here by me and has asked for you to step in and be the director for a while.” Said holly

“I can help, I am free during the day.” Said Isaac

“Ooh that would be great.” I said

“With the new baby and all the first weeks will be in and out for me.” I said

“Thanks you guys!” said holly

“I will go and tell Kara that you will do this.” Said holly

I got out of the hospital. All the kids love Farley parker. I love working at the school the kids are great. It was nearing Christmas and there was to be a party at the Farley's.

Christmas party at Sue’s

 

We get out of our van I have Farley in the carrier and Dennis has Jeffri in his lap. The kids know this house like the back of their hand. I am just hoping that they will stay clean because I spent a whole lot of time getting them all dressed. I would be very mad if they get dirty. Just then the door opens but no one is there (I know how it happened they installed a rope on the other side so that they can open the door for Dennis when we come over.) but the kids don’t see that they just run up to the door and all of a sudden Sue jumps out in the door way and yells BOO! Scares the kids half to death that it makes Isabella cry. She then comes running to me and clings onto my leg crying. 

“It’s ok Isabella it was just Sue.” I tell Isabella

“Hey!” I say

“Hey!” Said Sue hugging me

“Is that my little baby Farr?” Said Sue

“Yep, he is about to wake up.” I said

“Awwww he looks so cute!” said sue

“I know you want him?” I asked

“Come in Come in.” said sue

It was about twenty minutes into the party and I had an announcement to make.

“I would like to make an announcement!” I said looking at Dennis

“This is for the farley’s Sue and Tim.” I said

“Farr get in here!” yells Sue

“Ok!” yells Farr putting down the peanut for Byron the bird

“I would just like to ask Sue and Tim a question.” I said

“Would you guys be willing to be God Parents to Farley Parker? It would mean a lot to me and Dennis.” I said

“We would love to, that would be an honor!” Said Sue beginning to cry

“Here you go your new God son.” I said handing baby Farr to Sue

Then I here everybody clapping. Then me and Sue Hug.

“He is about ready to eat if you want to feed him.” I said a little later

“May I?” Asked Sue

“Yes you may.” I said

“Here you go.” I said handing baby Farr to Sue

Farley is fed and we go home the kids are put to bed and me and Dennis go to bed and try and get some sleep before Farley wakes up and wants to get fed. A few weeks have gone by Farley Parker was doing well and also I was noticing that Isabella's hair was thinning and falling out. Not a lot but more than normal. So I said to Dennis

“We should take her to the doctors."

"I just want to be safe." I said

So we did. They did some tests. And the doctor said

"We won’t know till we get blood work back."

So two days later I was at work and I get this call. I stopped the band and asked Isaac to fill in. I went to the office and sat down and answered my phone.

"Hello? Mrs. Carney." said the doctor

"Yes?" I said

"We got the blood work back and I wanted to inform you that Isabella has a form of leukemia." said the doctor

"Ok." I said

"We need to....." said the doctor

"Can I call you back?" I asked cutting him off

"Sure." He said

I started to cry

“No it can’t be her!!” I cried

“God please let it be some other girl.” I cried

But I had to accept that it was my little Isabella. My Bella was sick.

I just sat there crying. After about what seemed like five minutes Isaac walks in.

“You ok?” Asked Isaac in shock of seeing me crying because I am always happy

“She’s got leukemia.” I cried

“Who?” Asked Isaac

“Bella.” I said

“What??” Said Isaac in shock

“Yes!” I said

“Ohh my Gosh.” Said Isaac

“I need to call Dennis.” I said

“Ok I will let you go.” Said Isaac

I dialed the number to Dennis’s cell

“Hello Dennis?” I said

“Yes? Hey baby!” Said Dennis

“I got a call from the doctor and he said that Isabella has a form of leukemia” I said

“What??” Asked Dennis

“Yep.” I said Crying

“Its ok baby we will make do.” Said Dennis

“Ok.” I said

“I need to call the doctor back and then I will go pick up Isabella and Farley from my mom, I might take Bella out for Ice cream and tell her.” I said

“Ok.” Said Dennis

“I have to go.” I said

“Well ok, see ya in a bit.” Said Dennis

“Bye.” We both said

I called back the doctor and he said we will have to bring her in for a check up. It was almost the end of lunch time and I was talking to Isaac.

“Well I am going to have to go, can you handle it?” I said

“Yes, sure, go ahead and go, I can do it.” Said

“Thanks, Isaac.” I said

“No prob.” Said Isaac

I then Called sue. I figured she could help me.

“Hey is this Sue?” I asked

“Yes”

“Is everything ok?” Asked Sue

“No.” I said

“I just want to talk to you in person, I’m at the school in the band room.” I said

“Ok, I will be right over!” said Sue

Driving over in Sue’s point of view

“I hope everything is ok.” Wondered sue

“I hope it is not Dennis.”

Sue starts to cry

“I can’t cry I have to be there for Ruth.” She said

Sue slams on the breaks of her big van not being out of the parking lot of the church yet. Sue is crying not much but she is just a little. She holds her head in her hands. Sue was denying it but she was scared.

“I have to be strong for Ruth.”

I was not supposed to cry.  But I was. I wiped my eyes and started driving. I had to get there as soon as possible and I had already taken up five minutes.  I had to be there for Ruth. She needed me.

I get there, and I am told about bella, I was devastated. I could not believe that Isabella was sick. Ruth could not either. I did not cry but I let Ruth cry. I wanted to but I had to be strong. I had to be strong for Ruth. She needed me.

*A few days later in Ruth’s point of view*

“I’m scared.” I said

We where on our way to the doctors. We where dropping off Megan, Matthew and Jeffri at my parents. I had Bella and Farley with me.

“thanks mom for watching the kids!” I said

“No prob.” Said my mom

We leave and head over to the doctors. I put sleeping Farley in the stroller, and head in. Isabella seemed to be happy even though she was going to the doctors.

“I’m sacred” I txted Sue

“don’t worry.” She txted back

“Bella will be fine.” She txted

I wanted to cry!

I was so afraid we would loose her.

She’s gunna be fine I would tell myself.

“Isabella Carney” they call

“Let’s go baby.” I said

 We head in there Farley is fast asleep.

The doctor said…..“We need to do a MRI and CAT scan. And it needs to be done now.”

“Ok.” I said

I called sue and asked her to come and stay with us for support. We talked and talked and played with Farley. While I was sitting there the words “she’s got leukemia” where playing in my head. “She’s got leukemia.” About 10 minutes later I start to cry. Tears where pouring down my face. Sue walks over and hugs me. “it’s gunna be ok.” She whispers in my ear. Tears where just streaming down my face. By this time Dennis had rolled away in his wheelchair to be alone. I could tell he wanted to cry but he wanted to be a tough daddy. I had never cried this much since Dennis was in the hospital. I wanted it to stop. Those words where driving me crazy! “She’s got leukemia.”  It was horrible I could not stop crying. The tears just kept coming. Those words where like a broken record replaying over and over in my head. Like a damn broken record. I wanted it to stop. I wanted to break the record so it would stop. I was crying because of those three words. Those three horrid words I whish I did not have to hear. “She’s got leukemia.”    

“Did it go ok?” I asked as the doctor was coming out

“I’m afraid to tell you………… but Isabella will need to have to have a kidney transplant. We will have to admit her and put her on the list and wait.” Said the doctor

“Mean while we will try and treat her leukemia.” Said the doctor

I was devastated.

“Wait 10 minutes and you can see her.” Said the doctor

I cried even harder

“What are we going to do?” I cried

By this time I was sobbing my eyes where red from all the crying. I finally got up the nerve to go and see her. She looked fine a little groggy but she was ok. I now had to get up the nerve to tell her about the surgery.

“Can we go home now?” asked Bella

“Well Bella I am sorry to say but you have to stay here.” I said

“But I wanna go home!” she cried

“I’m sorry baby.” I said         

“You have to stay here so they can fix you.” I said

*A few days later*

 

 

Trip to Camp Farley

 

“Sweeeet Hooooooome Alabama!!!!” I sang            

This was the song of the trip. Everybody liked it. Sue was even belting out the words. The kids in there car seats we headed down the road in our identical  blue Chevy Astro vans mine with a sticker that says “Got Kids?”. We where having a blast. Mine with the people and Farr’s with the stuff. Sue with me and Dennis with Farr. We left Isabella home I did not want to but we had planed this trip be for she got sick. I had asked Preston, Sara, Isaac and his family to visit her and call me and tell me how she is doing.   

“What’s that smell??” I said

“I don’t know, but I think I am allergic to It.” said Sue

“Hey mommy look what I found our losted bug stuff.” said Matthew

“Smashed Grape this is Capt Rubber ducky we need to stop Sue needs some fresh air.” I said over the radio.

“You ok?” I asked

“Yeah I just need to get some fresh air.” Said Sue

“Roll down your window.” I said

“What did you find?” I asked Matthew pausing the music

“The losted bug stuff.” He said

“The bug spray?” I asked

“Yeah.” He said

“What have I told you about bug spray, It makes it so Sue can’t breath.” I said

“Tell Sue your sorry!” I said

“I sorry Sue.” Said Matthew

“That’s ok.” Said sue

 We then stopped on the side of the road.

Sue gets out.

“Are you alright?” Asked Tim

“Yeah matt just sprayed some bug spray in the car and I was closing up.” Said Sue

“I’ll be ok, I just need some fresh air.”

They kissed.

After a few we get back in the car and head off.

“Hey you guys ready for dinner?” I asked as we where nearing the off ramp an hr. later

“Yeah!!” they all said in harmony

“Smashed Grape this is Capt rubber Ducky we are all hungry, we wanna stop for dinner.” I said to Farr over the radio

“Ok where gunna stop here at this Carl’s Jr.” Said Farr

We stop for dinner and head out. We get there and unpack our stuff and get to bed.

The next morning I get up and watch the sunrise. I was crying. I missed my Bella. I was hoping she was ok. It was about one o’clock we had gone swimming and where playing phase 10 a card game. The phone rings it was Preston.

“I am sorry to tell you but Isabella is getting very sick. The doctor is giving her 1 ½ mths to live.” Said Preston

“Ok I said we will pack up and leave ASAP.” I said

I hang up the phone. I call every body in.

“Preston just called.” I said

“Is Bella ok?” asked Tim

I started to cry.

“She’s got 1mth left.” I cried

“what???” they all said

“yep.”

“OHH my Gosh” Said sue

It was as if someone took my heart out. Everything was gone. That was it Ruth’s life was ending.
