DivineA Poem by GbannersauceEveryone has something divine in their life. This is simply one of those things.Divine By Danielle Baker We scurried along the alleyways, Dirt covered rats in our space, We stole from merchants, And lived on the streets, Yet still lived in ever-loving grace, We were a team, him and I, A duo that shook the street, He never cheated, Never lied, Never pried, And that made our love concrete, One night, When the clouds began to cry, We nestled under a cardboard rooftop, And we both connected eyes, Then a small moment of silence went by, He then turned to me, His face, stern and damp, He then said to me, In a voice loud like an amp, "Most men have money, Jewels, diamonds, and coin." "But all of those trivial things, Could never be more divine, Than what I see when our eyes are joined." We kissed, And my heart began a new, It then dawned on me, I looked him in the eyes, "I'm lucky to have something so divine too." © 2012 GbannersauceReviews
