If I had you

Poem

I tried to avoid it for so long but it was just a matter of time

Its easier to hide from a lie than to run away from the truth

Watching you from a distance and talking was fine

But holding you so close made me lose my cool

I couldn’t help but think of all the things I would do to you

Only that I would want you to be mine before I do

Tired of watching them mistreat such a beauty

I feel like its time I changed that

I can please you in more ways then you can think of

But I may fail you in areas you find obvious

You love all the glitz and glamour

I love the little priceless feelings

You can trust me but I would have to learn to replicate that

Even when everyone points out all the thorns

I see you through rose coloured glasses

Can you do the same?

In many a person’s eyes I would be trying to change you

You would have to trust I'm bringing out the best in you

I know what you want but have what you need

I wonder if you can see that

I may not be the most popular kid or even close to that

I may have no idea on how to keep up

But one thing I know for sure

Is how to love a woman

If I had you, I would give you the respect of a king

Treat you with the tenderness of chinchilla fur

I would make sure you never regret a day

But can you take care of me?
