A drop of Rain

When life choose to rest and you don't...that's when death begins

We stand apart

in the hailstorm of unseen 

yet there is a light

we choose to see

Dark, it is not your thing

nor your sorrow is your darkness

make it your light instead

bright as sun-light

Inside your home is a tunnel

that opens in a sea

go swim there for your lifetime

and don't come back

We stand apart

Woes of life

and weakness of soul

you can't hid in that tiny layers 

of brain and heart

Limit yourself in a drop of rain

and observe 

and fall where its destiny is

how beautiful that is

to surrender

just travelling

falling like a free spirit

not rebelling

just surrendering

I want to be a drop of rain

Many people live their lives in darkness, afraid to venture further afield when there is so much more. When I think of raindrops, I think of light and freedom. I would rather be a raindrop for a day, than caught in a tunnel of darkness not knowing if and when it would end. Your lines made me take a wander.

This is a lyrical & whimsical poem that dances between reality & unreality. It reminds me of how there are so many more vibrations & connections that we realize between people & other aspects of life. We only know what we can touch & feel & hear, etc. But your poem suggests "a tunnel that opens up to a sea" & this, to me, is that way we are connected to that which we cannot see. It could be another person out of sight or it could be a refreshing rain when we're standing in the desert. Our minds & spirits are so much more powerful than many people realize.
