To my father

I thought that you fought

in moments of pain,

but you hugged death

as you loved life...

Your unblemished will

suffered the loss of heart,

but never did you cry

to see us all in despair...

A life of supreme virtues

who can live except greatness?

when morals degraded

you held on the devotion...

Memories of inspirations

and future of absolute manhood

you left behind in me,

we differed, i said

but why is it 

that i cherish to be You?

I want you to call me

when we illusory

watch you go in Ganges,

teach me about me

when they grant you peace..

Waiting for you

in dreams and other levels

request is to enlighten

my soul with knowledge..

So strong is your love

that i allow you

to take over,

yes take over me

'cause i know

i will be happy.

'cause

'none can measure happy or sad'

Another poem which I didn't enjoy but I can feel it....
Nothing much changes on a person's demise...only the amount of love from his close ones increases and so the amount of his/her being missed....I love the way you expressed your condolence for yourself.....Strong guy!

Gaurav, I don't know if this tribute to your dad is because he is deceased, but judging by your words I believe the tribute is to your very much alive father. And what a glowing tribute it is. Any of us who were fortunate enough to have a loving father in our lives will easily identify with this tribute. I believe that a child needs nurturing from a mother AND a father; in whatever measure is possible, it should be done. Custody battles? Unnecessary in the big picture. Parents should do whatever it takes to achieve that balance. Mom + Dad. Your writing contains so much emotion and love, your allegiance to your Dad speaks volumes. Well done! take care...dan
