The Space Between Us

THE SPACE BETWEEN US

The space between us
Is over grown
The once clear path
Now tangled and vined
The view obscured
By a haunted past
Each step leaving
Muddy footprints
Showing where we’ve been
Footsteps whose tracks
Are as obscured as the view
For they seem to lead forward
As yet, they seem to lead away
As though confused
By the gold gilded path they trod
To walk away
Or to brave the trail
That has threatened to trip
In the past
