TEARS OF PRETTY WANTING


I am in tears of pretty wanting
I am in knowledge of all that is
And ever thought to be
I have seen a lifetime of stories
Page by page across my mind
Stories told by tongues
Who speak words from vision view
The stars and moon foresaw it all
A tale told before the dawn
Before time knew it was time
And tomorrow had not been thought
When the heavens sent
A garden into my soul
And a wonder into my heart
