And if I Knew then...

And if I Knew then...

A Poem by Gastroc.

it's like looking at myself
three years past
that,
and a trainwreck
simultaneously
i bet you didn't think you'd
be cast to play my
role
and perhaps i should pick you
apart and list the
reasons why i'm far superior
but there isn't any use for that
anymore
because you have become
me
from beginning to
end
and i'm sure you knew
it would last
if only he could make it
worth the while
i am sorry you were
the trophy on the wall
the back-pocket,
atten-hut;
at beck and call
like me so many years ago,
tears to toilets
flush cheeks to cold tiles
but now i know,
this is when girls need their
mothers most.

It would be nice to go back in time, with what we know now. Maybe change some things up, maybe just leave them be. Very fine write here, I really enjoyed it, thank you for writing and sharing it with us.
