Holy Smokes

Holy Smokes

A Poem by Gastroc.

this little
brown-eyed
alter boy
started yelling
some fuss
and we all hold its truth
in the pit of our
pocketbooks
the whole town's in a
hold down
and he loves me for worth
i kiss his ego-
he kisses my sads
but money put away is
bankrupt now
and a promise is a statue
with face to the ground
or some have willingly said
to the
dust
of marble and ivory
and bone
well cheers to the marlboro man
and the camel he rode in on

After realizing the depth of it,I love that title! And the last two lines of the poem. especially the last two lines.
It is most definitely an interesting image.

i really liked how this sounded but i really didnt understand what was going on or what was trying to be said. though in poetry, i guess you couldve just won yourself a medal for all of that imagery and metaphor
