Sparky

Sparky

A Poem by Gastroc.

and the e-mail inbox declared

"SAVED"

and so i thought i was

but red numbers screaming "deficit!"

fail to contrast well with my blues

but i suppose i'm not

and after all-

dollar signs don't remain in

eyes alone

i was kissed by bill once

when the value of a dollar

was measured in

four gumballs,

all my least favorite color

society is fallacy that

people tend to shrug and

avert eyes

leaving all the shifty-eyed

bobbing heads as if for apples and

zombies on cancer-causing devices

the 9-5

and love's a lyric in a song and

sex is a means to pass time and

the ones that stand to bare the title

"normal" die off and

Mr. and Mrs. Doe are victims of brutality

in pass of

normality

and so the story goes:

the dog chases his tail

and so the footnote reads:

the dog catches his tail and

instead, he bites down and off

for fear of losing opportunity

and so it figures,

we're all just house pets
