Death of a Dancer

Death of a Dancer

A Poem by Gastroc.

this heart beats faster
(loveless)
usually
unable to feel
it
now-
now it desires to
remind me
of its presence
and 'suade me
to accept it
pursue the
course
the brain's forsaken
need not
neglect it
pounding
or shaking
escaping
from these
twelve ribs
that try
and
contain it
sanity takes its
final bow
the curtain
draws
as tears fall
and here
goes...
proceed with the
show
collapse afore
spectators
and pray,
as they hurry to
the scene,
that
they let you be
palm to breast
feel the
quickened pulse
smile upon
slick lips
until it ceases to
last

interesante... fell in love with these lines:
"the brain's forsaken
need not
neglect it
pounding
or shaking
escaping
from these
twelve ribs
that try
and
contain it
sanity takes its
final bow"
