Ill

Ill

A Poem by Gastroc.
"

restored.

"

everyone deserves
only not
nearly at all
what they obtain
not true
no?
because i've
i've been asking
seeking
something
nonexistant
walking tall
two feet to ground
and speak from this
mouth
hardly noticed
at all
crawl
breath in lungs
breathe out
out
out
out
gasp for more
when need not want
it
but got it.
asked not for it,
received it.
fought it and
subsequently
obtained it
yet,
yet the prayer
goes
unanswered
and the tears
untouched
the blood
to the carpet
and the
nails to the
walls
covered.
f**k whoever's not-
not listening
whatsoever
listen
listen,
beg, i do
reach out
touch

to
heal this
soul
if only you want
to

say,

say

you want to

...be made clean

I've got the same scream echoing through my own garden.

Lovely complex manipulation of language to fit what is usually inarticulate.

This screams of losing faith in God. I'm an atheist and this is exactly what I went through before I found out that's what I was. No one caught me, no one answered me, no one cleaned my soul up after I had been trampled on. No one but me. You're questioning the reason behind life. Why do people get what they don't deserve? What do people really deserve anyway? And did all that fighting make you feel better once you got what you wanted? Your prayers go unanswered. This has so much feeling in it and gets me on such a personal level. "F**k whoever's not listening" Good line.

Heh, I agree with you, it is choppy. I read it through a few times but its staggered way doesn't detract from it at all. A lovely write.
