When You're a Country Song

When You're a Country Song

A Poem by Gaston

teardrops in my whiskey
that woman on my mind

jim beam and cocaine
twang a twang
goes the guitar
bumdum dum dsh
goes the drum

it ain't a joke
when you're a country song

living hell in the daytime
and heaven all night long

god's gonna do it up right
every friday and saturday night
in every little ***** tonk tavern and bar
between here and Hank Williams' star

where's the Cash when you need it
all Haggard and broken down
no Pride, no Paycheck on the first
brings a man to an all mighty thirst

She's drinking doubles
and I'm drinking alone

It's a lonesome time
when you're a country song
