Work in Progress

Work in Progress

A Poem by Gaston

I make no excuses for who I am
and neither will I lie
womanizer, alcoholic,
and all around nice guy
at times I can be a jerk
but then, can't we all
I'm quite shy and reserved
long as its before last call
I've done my share of stupid things
with plenty more to come
I'm really very intelligent
and also very dumb
I can quote Socrates and Shakespeare
Wierd al and Johnny Cash
I can drink a fifth of whiskey
and still not be trashed
I've been a farmer and a cowboy
I've worn a badge and I've worn stripes
I've wrestled alligators
and never lost a fight
I know a few crazy men
who consider me insane
for riding bulls, shooting guns
and crying in the rain
Now, maybe you know me better
and maybe you like me less
what can I say, this is me
still a work in progress
