You Truly Are Beautiful

You Truly Are Beautiful

A Poem by Gary McDonald

I've tried to describe your beauty in so many ways
comparing you to a delicate rose with an inner divinity
spewing apple glossed passion over my garden.

Not to mention, the sunset of beguiling beauty
whose swift change from theatrical class
to peaceful mildew laden night washed sky
leaves my eyes rather morose at such a loss.

Today I try some new tact, I compare you to you
because the very simple truth is, there are no words
none at all to say exactly how you make me feel
the warm tingle spreading violently from the deep
reaching my fingers mere moments before contact.

You see I failed again, now we'll see about light
dancing across the ripples as only animated pixies could
with a twirl into the air, you land beside me.

Yet again I have let you down, my love
well for now I shall only say, you truly are beautiful
and that will have to do, until tomorrow.
