If The Sun Could Set, Just One More Time

If The Sun Could Set, Just One More Time

A Poem by Gary McDonald

If the sun could set, just one more time
and I could taste those laughs of yours and mine
to feel those birds atop these trees
with my sole wish that time could freeze.

Your hair that holds all your grace
still sits atop your faultless face
in all my dreams that I could never see
there was never a love like you and me.

How we spent that Summer's eve
of joyous hands, setting out to sea
through the waves of clothes above your knees
we created the most heavenly memories.
