My Love For Thee

My Love For Thee

A Poem by Gary McDonald

To see with her eyes of tender
is to smile with lips of grace
as one hair's curl upon ear's behind
does put fair wisdom to shade.

A velvet soaked canvas is her skin
that steals heart's eye from subtle chin
my soul now weeps in pure heart's absence
whilst arched lips in my restrain do seethe.

Sorrow nor travesty may blacken tenacious smile
below slight nose that leaves a lonely eye
now lead to truth my love for thee,
and tell me you love I.
