Empty

Empty

A Poem by Gary McDonald

To say that life without is needing
is to say that a broken heart is bleeding
more than clear, it was to me
that your soul is the light I need.

A Summer's night of empty stars
paints the painting of all my fears
you hold the brush for life to alter
this scene that seems to only falter.

If winter's snowflakes could speak
each to each would call your name
for coldness leaves my soul so bleak
so run to find me and end heart's game.

I wanted to review your first piece here to sense what started you on your journey at the cafe.... This is tenderly moving us through time, taking us into the warmth of love, and the winter of abandonment. Beautifully done and so alive with emotion. So great to have you here!
