A Tranquil Night

A Tranquil Night

A Poem by Gary McDonald

O night most tranquil, I beseech your command
ingest all time and forge this path most covered
by wasted light and life's own blood of love
for we care not the rain on our skin, but
for the eyes of the one in our arms
so deny morning's grace and day's birth
fight for the pain we feel at daybreak
and battles lost with suns of past
this night, this dark will bear my spirit
it will eat at sorrow, leaving solely joy
now lover's will that leads my own by hand
will guide fair quest upon night of fate.

im suprised your only 19. this is very powerful and seems like someone much older could've wrote this. i wouldnt say this is simple at all but it does symbolise a sense of pain and love. 100/100
