No Wall

No Wall

A Poem by Jason Gartin

No Wall

A glowing white smile,
the backdrop to brown colored skin
Swordy green eyes
pierce above high cheekbones
to compliment her warm radiance

A halo of sun holds her face
with soft Hispanic hands
Bubbly lips, they speak to me
a language I fully understand

Who is this dimple chinned beauty?
Whose name I do not know
Whose glances shoot at me
from a seductive steady bow

I feel she loves me
Does she perceive my thoughts as well?
If she does,
then my fate forever sealed

Damn this wall between us!

I'll tear it down with my bare hands!

I'll learn to speak her language,
Bridge the frivolous gap between us,
And give her love with all the bits and pieces that I am
