PinkA Chapter by Garrett LeathermanI remember! I do remember that cloud in the sky that day, the one that got dismembered and cried till it passed away. I truly remember!
I really do remember that cloud that turned pink from the gushing blood rushing out and, in a blink, red and white making pink!
I recall the shrill shrieks flashing through the sky like lightning, seeking haven in the heavens up on high and yet heightening. ‘Twas frightening!
The sound was easy to be found cause ‘twas the cloud screaming-- ‘twas enough to make you insane!--yes, with much pain ‘twas teeming, gleaming, and beaming.
How could I forget the pink drops dropping from the sky and popping on the ground and, like ink, painting it with pink dye? Forget I would why?
I could never let slip those echoes that flipped through the air and rumbled and rolled like thunder and lightning bolts in despair. I could never, I swear!
Don’t you remember that cloud shrieking in despair? Don’t you remember the pink rain reigning in the air? Wait--were you even there? © 2021 Garrett LeathermanAuthor's Note
