FLOWERS FOR DADDY

FLOWERS FOR DADDY

A Poem by Garnetrose
"

A poem of loss. It's never easy losing someone you love, especially when you share a special bond of friendship and admiration, and have a mutual fan club for each other

"

Through many a winter and many a spring

and though she too has long since passed

The tears turned to flowers still remain and pop up each spring

For all who chance by

To see the girl's tears

After all of these years

As a tribute of love

That will forever outlast

The granite before which they stand

Flower heads drooping down

Bowed to the land

To honor the man

Who held the girl's hand

And carefully watched over her

as she crossed the street

Who lovingly waited for butterfly kisses on his cheek

And danced her abound with her toes on his feet

Who was ever so gentle, and kindly, and meek

Who's voice was soft and soothing every time he did speak

Who's eyes sparkled and glistened with pride

Every time the little girl was by his side

Year after year

And day after day

She would hug the cold stone

From each heart wrenched tear drop that fell they say

Emerged the most beautiful and fragrant of flowers for Daddy

That still can be seen to this day

From each heart wrenched tear drop that fell they say
Emerged the most beautiful and fragrant of flowers for Daddy

This makes for a delightful tribute for a dad. I particularly like the idea of her tears watering the most beautiful flowers. Nicely done.
