DANCE AGAIN (LOVE LOST...LOVE FOUND)A Poem by GarnetroseA poem about finding the courage to live and love again.
I walked As if I were facing yet more doom I felt naked and so all alone Laid bloodied deep down to the bone Torn and shredded from years of pain My spirit long ago in the grave laid slain Yet a spark in me chose to rise Like the Poenix from the ashes did arise My soul was given another chance I could sit it out or dance Well I pondered for a bit Should I dance or should I safely sit Since I couldn't find a comfortable seat I was up and on my feet I felt self conscious and awkward at first But this new freedom quenched my hunger and my thirst From deep within me came a sensual knowing Each primal rhythmic movement left me glowing I became lost in the exquisite Dance of Life.
I felt his eyes watching me on the dance floor I, without knowing why, wanted to dance just for the man standing by the door My body slowly and wantonly moved to the music of the band I opened my eyes and realized he was gone, then I felt his hand He pulled me close and I felt his searing heat Our eyes engaged, arms entwined, bodies meshed, and we started to dance to our own beat We held each other long, the passion was strong, and we fused into each other I buried myself into his muscled chest until I felt that I would smother The music was oh so enticingly slow But we wouldn't know, we were lost in the glow And we were both on the fast track Heading for the fire Pulled into that burning ring of desire We were going to dance this dance And we weren't going to look back We both knew we were given another chance from above To get lost in the exquisite Dance of Love © 2008 GarnetroseReviews
