The Forlorn AccordA Poem by GarlandOne of my more dark pieces I've done. But definitely one of my favorites.Verse 1: Sing to sleep the open scar. Drink your pride from a Mason Jar. Fool yourself into falling in love. And punish your heart cause you're never enough. Let's go down to the lake and wait for the rain. We can polish our blades and exchange our pain. We can stay here until the moon decays. The earth will be frail and our souls in hell. But our bodies remain in that same old place. Down by the lake while we wait for the rain.. Chorus: I've never seen so much.. Holding on, I hope to die. In my sleep I see your eyes. The constant urge to feel your touch.. Verse 2: And there you are again in depths so low. I reach out my hand from heights so high. And you pull me back down to wherever you go. A crack of the whip, and your horns start to show. There's venom in your words murmured under blankets of snow. As far as I might, no further I'll go. Today as it dies, so does the taste. But in our wake, things remain the same. The same old pain, day by day. Down by the lake while we wait for the rain.. Chorus: I've never seen so much.. Holding on, I hope to die. In my sleep I see your eyes. The constant urge to feel your touch..
