NatA Poem by GargiThe sun is burning But I will rise again from the ashes And then you will know Where this is meant to go But the words will fall on deaf ears And your blinded eyes From what I emit I will trace you down And fix it straight And make you think About what went wrong And that is what it was supposed to be Rotting in the centre Glowing on the outside And it will be clear When they won’t come No one listens to a dead wolf And you may fly away But your boat will sink The wings melting and filling you with holes There’s no way to fix it And nothing to fill it with Your silence will kill you And nowhere to go And you won’t hear a thing With all doors closed The rusted locks With the lost keys Your destiny in my hands And me on fire What seems right Will be all wrong For you pay for my sins And I am absolved You killed the man You trashed the song Picking up the pieces Will break you even more The sleet on your face And your feet on glass Crashing against your body And you will fall But who will be there to pick you, my love? The man you buried Will not be found The promises you made Will thunder in your ears You’ll look for a messiah But you find no map Sleepless and tired You’ll look for mercy But you held a wake For the one you need You thought so strong But your feet faltered Now that you can stand There’s no ground Nothing will make no sense But weren’t you always smart? Nothing can get you out of this No resurrection now You’ll look for the lost And find a ghost And it’ll spit on your face And ask you to go For that’s what you wanted From everyone But now, my dear, take a step And try reaching for what you want The doors are not there Only doorknobs on the floor The key you have Will not work here You’ll wander in empty space But you’ll get no hope Its all in your head And still is false And the sun will come up again Blinding you with all the power And it won’t be hazy anymore And I will rise again and turn to dust © 2014 Gargi |
