society

society

A Poem by garfen
"

my poem about how people f**k up our planet

"

Green hills so far away

Live to be seen another day

As then glimmer like living emerald

The sight of them leaves my heart spiraled

Even though they take my breath

The workers make us see their death

As we watch the hills go down

And they replace them with a town

Our faces glisten with diamond tears

As the workers work and drink their beers

Even though it makes it easier to live

In our hearts we know were captive

So fight this evil as we know it

Because even though I am a poet

This all comes straight from my heart

This I know is only the start

So fight oppression of society

I’ll break the chains to set you free

Because as we stare at emerald hills

There is not much time till they’re landfills

I loved it. Just goes to show what our planet is really coming to. Yes, we need to use our brains, but the heart is one big part of it. Unfortunately, if it makes someone money they will keep doing it until they no longer can. It's greed, but what they can't seem to comprehend is they'll either be dead or stuck on a screwed over planet in the end.
I love the image and message you convey in this poem. Simply speaking up can be the first step to changing the Earth.
