Rome was lost in a day.

Rome was lost in a day.

A Poem by Gareth6d

Rome was lost in a day.

It's true that one mans joy is another mans plot to take it from him.

I was on top of the world and had it all.

But now all I have is my great fall and the red and orange leaves accompanying it.

I sit alone in my room surrounded by books I've never read.

And I can't help feeling neglected like them.

I've never tried to be something I'm not.

I've never shared my bed.

I've never appreciated what I've got

When I was little, I used to hide in my closet.

Now that it's filled with skeletons, there is no place for me.

So now I try to hide at the bottom of a bottle.

Trying to escape my inner battle.

I came into this world with a noose around my neck.

And I guess that's how I'll leave as well.

What a sadness of words and yet, there's a sort of courage here too, listing thoughts and emotions so concisely. That ending is a one.sentence tragedy. You;'ve a way with of putting feelings on paper, up on screen.. and hopefully, next time there' just might be a happier scene
