Barry The Single Blue Tit

Barry The Single Blue Tit

A Poem by George David Hope

                                                               BARRY THE SINGLE BLUE TIT
Barry the blue tit made a nest
In his quest to find a mate
But no matter how hard he tried
He couldn't get a date
All the other blue tits
Had found their one true love
He could hear the sound of hatchings
From nests below and from above
He thought why bother
This shacking up is not for me
He flew down to Argos
For a plasma tv
He took down all the homely stuff
Put rude pictures on his walls
He had tit's all over the place
And didn't pick up his smalls
Then he bought a massive fridge
Filled it to the top
Until he couldn't fit no more
And then he had to stop
Then he called a tv firm
To see if they did Sky
They said there might be a problem
His nest was way too high
But anyway a man came out
With his box of tricks
After a few hours
Up a Sky box he did fit
So in his nest he sat and watched
Sports and movies every day
Glad no hen had called
Pleased they's stayed away
Then the news did get out
About a boxing match on tv
Between a starling and a blackbird
This he'd have to see
So he made the call to see the fight
It was on Sky pay per view
So he used his credit card
Excited his mind was blew
All the birds were talking
About this special fight
Barry invited them all around
For a male birdie night
One by one they all declined
They had to babysit their chicks
So while they were hunting grubs
He got his fighting fix
Barry was really happy
In his blue tit bachelor pad
Eating pizza and watching Sky
While the hooked up birds went mad
