A Sad Little Boy

A Sad Little Boy

A Poem by George David Hope
"

I'd forgot all about this little ditty

"
                                                                     A SAD LITTLE BOY
There was once a sad little boy
Who had nothing to play with
Not one single toy
Then one day
While walking around
He happened to find
One single pound
So off to the toy shop
He started to run
Hoping soon
To be having some fun
But once in the toy shop
He started to cry
Because for one lousy pound
There was nothing to buy

That would certainly make a kid sad. At least when I was young, I could buy a piece of bubble gum for a penny. Hopefully, this sad little boy's fortune will improve.

Aw George, this little boy should have gone to a sweet shop and bought himself a lovely ice-cream with a flake in it. Toys are expensive. Sweet little poem.
