Epic Battle With A Spider

Epic Battle With A Spider

A Poem by George David Hope

                                                              EPIC BATTLE WITH A SPIDER
I was in my bathroom
Doing what you do
When I glanced into the bathtub
A something hairy came into view
It had 8 legs and 6 big eyes
And it looked rather mean
I wondered why it was in my bath
Maybe to get itself so clean
So I decided I would help
Use a glass to get him free
But he had other plans
He would play with me
I scraped the glass around the tub
But he did his best to run
I was getting all worked up
While he did have his fun
Finally I did catch him
But he just held on to the glass
He didn't want to come out
He was aright pain in the a*s
When he managed to lose his grip
He then tried to flee
But it had turned into a vendetta
Between him and me
The hunt went on for quite a while
The bathroom a total mess
I had sweat dripping from my brow
I really was in distress
I managed to get him cornered
But he then ran up my arm
I shouted "I only want to help you
Not to cause you any harm"
He looked at me so angry
This David and Goliath battle he would win
He took a bite at my flesh
And sunk his fangs right in
I wasn't a beaten man yet
There was only one thing left to do
So I did the only thing I could
I squashed him with my shoe
