Fluffy Bunny

Fluffy Bunny

A Poem by George David Hope

                                                                          FLUFFY BUNNY
I got a fluffy bunny
So fluffy was his name
I really really loved him
And he to me did the same
We used to play for hours
Out in sun or hail
He used to let me pet him
And stroke his cotton tail
But time moved on and he grew old
And slowed down with his age
No longer did he run around
He just sat there in his cage
the none morning it did happen
He just lay there stiff and still
I tried so hard to wake him
But knew I never will
My dad came out and saw me weep
"Now don't you cry young man
I know how we can all remember him"
I guessed his cunning plan
I knew just what he was thinking
How he was just trying to please
All warm and cosy with a crust upon his back
Together with gravy mash and peas
